World Cup 2010 LogoThe 2010 FIFA World Cup was the 19th FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national association football teams. It took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. The 2010 tournament was staged in nine South African cities, World cup matches was held in 10 stadiums. The bidding process for hosting the tournament finals was open only to African nations; in 2004, the international football federation, FIFA, selected South Africa over Egypt and Morocco to become the first African nation to host the finals.

The 32 countries which qualified for the 2010 World Cup were placed into their eight groups in early December 2009. See the complete listing of the 2010 draw for each of the eight groups. This was the first World Cup with no debutante associations, although two of the qualifying countries (Slovakia and Serbia) have previously appeared only as parts of former competing nations.
